The building was the former constitutional club which included club facilities, a ballroom with service apartments in the upper parts. The planning approval was gained for a change of use and redevelopment of the ballroom at the rear and the basement and ground floor with refurbishment of the apartments above.
The building was locally listed and as a consequence the facade was retained with 4 new town houses formed behind, along with three flats in the front part of the building. Other planning approvals were gained for a roof terrace.
